Dating Games
People always surf the web to come across people, so that they can mail them and remain in touch with them through community sites. Another way of meeting people on the web is online dating. Since we all know that technology knows no bounds and limits, it makes us reach every human being across seven seas. Almost making the entire planet look like a village.
But everybody don’t seem to be sharing the same feeling, some fear the dangers of online dating like that of getting hooked on to the wrong person, or having the fear of getting habituated to late night web surfing and so on. But the most that people fear is, the former one, that is getting connected to the wrong person.
Dating game was a television show hosted by an American television network during the around the 1960’s but, since it was controversial it had to be put down. Critics during that time claimed that it was immoral and unethical on its part to host such television programs. No doubt after some time, it was aired once again on the television in different versions. This television show was so popular that it was even translated in different languages all across the world.
In this show the host of the programe would question a participant who was supposed to be a bachelor. If the bachelor would succeed then he would get a chance to date around with the woman of his choice. Here there was a stipulation that even the lady should mutually agree to date him. So if she would not agree to it then the bachelor would lose his chance. This was the original classic show that was hosted by a very famous television personality Jim Lange.
But as mentioned earlier this show was revived later in the 90’s with a different host. Though the basic pattern of the show was the same but still there were some variations within it. So these differences made the revised show slightly different from the earlier one. Many famous personalities like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Michael Jackson had been invited.
This television show reached such popular heights that even in recent times it still remains to continue, but having different format. One of the latest examples are television programs like the “Love Connection” and the Music television “Singled Out”.
This television show had contributed a lot in getting couple together specially those who had problems in finding a suitable match for themselves. This television network also conglomerated with the various sites on the web so as to provide the same services to the people. But the only difference being that was of the internet, other features remaining the same.
Even after many decades this dating concept does not seem to loose popularity, like many television shows almost similar to it, were aired on different channel. Some of them were like Temptation Island, where the couples were both separated and were deserted, with different partners.
Dating games are not only played by game lovers, but also by the corporate executives with their respective companies in relation to stock options. There are two types of games that the corporate employees play the first one is called backdating and the another one is called forward dating.
Dating games may have become widespread among people, but still it has some dark corners that exist. People should take measures and initiatives so as they don’t harm themselves from this habit. Though dating just seems to be a game but still it could be a cause of ruining many lives like men would always like to date in spite of being married and the same is the case with women also. Like we say even small and petty issues could land us in great trouble.
